Time Control
The secret lies in the minute hand on the face of the clock. If you jump into the clock when the minute hand is
on the 12, all gears inside the clock will stop moving. If the minute hand is on the 3, all gears will move slowly and in sync. If the minute
hand is on the 9, the clock will move very fast and out of sync.
The Hat Trick
In Snowman's Land, climb all of the way to the top of the snowman and allow yourself to be blown off.
Mario will loose his cap, as he is being gown off of the bridge, DON'T pick it up yet. Instead walk over to the warp trees,
allow yourself to be warped back and forth. For each trip you make, a new cap will appear.
Pick up the caps, the final cap that Mario picks up he will hold on to. It's a fun trick to try, but it doesn't do anything
special. Be warned, although Mario has his hat, he is not wearing it so he takes more damage.
Leaps and Bounds
The higher you jump into the Wet-Dry World's painting the higher the water will be.
See Yoshi
Collect all 120 stars. Go to the castle gardens, the grid near the fish pond will open, revealing a cannon. Shoot yourself onto the roof of the castle and yoshi will be there!
Owl Ride
Go to Whomp's Fortress (Level 2), pick Shoot into the wild blue or higher. Now climb the tree to your
left and an owl will fly out, he will now let you ride him, but if you wait too long he'll drop you.
Penguin Rematch
When you get 120 stars return to Cool Cool Mountain for a rematch with the penguin. If you though he was big before then you'll be in for a surprise
Mario the Airhead
Find any door in the castle and open it. Immediately turn around and try and go through, and then stop ASAP.
Occasionally, the Latiku Bros. cameraman won't come through with you, or it will come only partially through.
If you do the trick correctly, you'll get an "x-ray" of Mario's skull.
Say what Bowser?
Once you get 120 stars, go fight the final Bowser again, and there will be a different message.
Control the Ending Camera
After you beat Bowser, pick up your second controller and move the analog control stick to change the camera.
This also works during the tour of levels.
Turn Butterflies into One-Ups
Sometimes as you walk along, a bunch of butterflies will come out of the grass or trees. If you punch the
butterflies, they will turn into black round bombs that chase you. They will either explode or be one-ups.
Exercesing Mario
Go into any coarse and pause it. Now go to the bottom of the menu and turn the camera settings to
Lakitu - Stop. Unpause it and hold down the R button. Face Mario towards you and hit C-up. DON'T LET GO OF THE R BUTTON! Now move the joystick around in circles SLOWLY! Mario's head moves around and it looks
like he is exercising his neck!
